Reese Witherspoon started seriously pursuing acting when she was enrolled at Stanford University. In her early career, she had roles in movies like Pleasantville or Election. However, it was Elle Woods' portrayal in Legally Blonde which marked a significant turning point. Witherspoon's role as Elle Woods in Walk the Line earned her an Academy Award nomination in 2005.
