Aaliyah Dana Haughton burst into fame in 1994 after she released her debut Album Age Ain't Nothing More Than a Number. At the time, she was just 15 years old. that time, and the album became Gold. R. Kelly heavily influenced this collaboration, and helped to bring her into the spotlight. The year 1996 saw her release her sophomore album One In A Million with Jermaine dupri and Timbaland. The album contained the hit number one single If Your girl only had known. After the debut of the album Aaliyah won international acclaim for her performance as an R&B singer. Aaliyah appeared alongside legendary Jet-Li, the famous martial artist in Romeo Must Die (2000) the action and romantic film. Joel Silver, a film producer who was at an award ceremony when she got the role, noticed her. In 2002 she was in the vampire film Queen of the Damned based on the Anne Rice book. The Matrix Sequels was her first appearance in The Matrix Sequels. She was also on The Matrix Reloaded (2003) as well as The Matrix Revolutions (2007). She received four Grammy nominations for 1999, 2001, 2002 and 2003. She continues her acting career with her home in Los Angeles, where she lives with her daughter and husband.
